About

E KA TEA— in Bamanankan, these three words mean only one thing: It’s your tea. That's where it all begins

Kinkaliba — Combretum micranthum, its scientific name — grows freely in the bushes of Mali, Senegal, Guinea, and Burkina Faso. For generations, it has been drunk hot in the morning, prepared by hand, and shared with family. It heals, comforts, and brings people together. It is part of the daily life, memory, and identity of millions of people.

Yet, kinkaliba remains little known outside of West Africa. Absent or scarcely present in international distribution channels, it remains a discreet treasure — known to insiders, ignored by most.

Africa is full of extraordinary plants, unique flavors, and a millennial plant heritage too often ignored or underestimated. Behind every kinkaliba leaf, there is expertise, tradition, and generous land.

With EKATEA, we wanted to highlight this treasure — not to transform it, not to copy it, but to celebrate it as it is: natural, powerful, generous. Each infusion combines kinkaliba with carefully chosen complementary flavors — tamarind, lemongrass, moringa, mango, hibiscus — to create blends that tell a story of a journey, a land, a culture.

At EKATEA, we make no compromises. Our infusions are 100% natural, caffeine-free, dye-free, and artificial flavor-free. Each sachet is an invitation to reconnect with the essential, to savor the moment with intention.

E KA TEA — excellent African tea, to be savored every day.
